Hanging it

Over a table or island, the usual guidance is around 30 to 36 inches between the bottom of the shade and the surface — low enough to light the work, high enough to see across. Three pendants want the outer two set in from the ends of the table rather than at the extremes.

Use visible filament bulbs. On an exposed pendant the bulb is the fixture.
