Commissioned in the 2010s, Japanese JS Sōryū Submarine (SS-501 Series) submarines are among the most advanced non-nuclear submarines globally. Equipped with air-independent Stirling engines, they can operate silently for extended periods underwater, playing a crucial role in Japanese's maritime defense. This 30-inch model is handcrafted using the traditional plank-on-frame method and premium Canadian red cedar, Teak, Mahogany,... From the angular bow and quiet propulsion design to the compact yet modern sail (conning tower), this model reflects the high-performance engineering of contemporary Asian naval power. Completion time ranges from 3 to 6 months depending on design details. You'll receive photo documentation during the production stages: - Hull construction - Deck detailing and structures - Final painting and finishing touches We'll make adjustments until you're completely satisfied with the model. The Japanese JS Sōryū Submarine (SS-501 Series) is a class of Japanese diesel-electric submarines commissioned from 2009 onwards. Measuring approximately 84 meters long and displacing about 2,900 tons submerged, the Sōryū-class is among the largest and most advanced conventional submarines in the world. These submarines employ air-independent propulsion using Stirling engines, granting them extended underwater endurance without surfacing.
