H.M.S. Bounty, built the way the original was: plank on frame, from scratch, entirely by hand.

Our craftsmen lay each hull plank over a wooden skeleton — the same method 18th-century shipwrights used. Hundreds of hours go into a single hull, and every model passes a full inspection before it leaves the workshop.

The story

Launched at Hull in 1784 as the merchantman Bethia, she was purchased by the Royal Navy in May 1787 and renamed Bounty. Ninety feet ten inches long, she sailed under William Bligh to bring breadfruit from the Pacific to the West Indies. Fletcher Christian's mutiny ended that voyage. The ship was burned at Bounty Bay on 23 January 1790.
