Venetian Gondola

The Venetian Gondola Model around the 17th century was commonly used for transportation around the Grand Canal in Venice. Today, they are used as iconic boats for mostly tourism. They are built to scale with high-grade wood such as western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. They are 100% hand-built individually using the plank-on-frame construction method and are similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires many hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. The hull is beautifully painted in black and then varnished in several layers. The deck is decorated with several golden sculptures. A seating area and stern deck are painted in red. It has a gold-plated ornament at the bow. The model comes with one black-painted oar. A hand-stitched pillow casing is tied up against the cockpit on the opposite of the red wooden seat. There is a wooden platform for the gondolier to stand on. This Gondola model also comes with a wood base with a brass nameplate.
