The Borei-Class (Project 955) submarines mark a new era in Russiann strategic deterrence, designed to replace the aging Typhoon and Delta IV-class SSBNs. As the first submarine of this class, the K-535 Yuriy Dolgorukiy sets the standard with its improved stealth, nuclear propulsion, and capability to launch the RSM-56 Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). This 36-inch handcrafted model is built using the traditional plank-on-frame technique and high-grade woods like Red Cedar, Teak, and Mahogany. From the sleek missile hump to the enlarged sail and quiet propeller design, each signature feature of the Borei-class is represented with precise craftsmanship. Completion takes between 3 and 6 months depending on specifications. We collaborate closely with you during the build. TheK-535 Yuriy Dolgorukiy Borei-Class Submarine is the lead submarine of Russian's Borei-class, developed as part of the modernization of its sea-based nuclear forces. Named after the founder of Moscow, the submarine was laid down in 1996, launched in 2008, and commissioned into service with the Northern Fleet in 2013. Equipped with 16 Bulava ICBMs and multiple torpedo tubes, it serves as a key component of Russian's nuclear triad. The design features improved hydrodynamics, quieter propulsion, and a smaller crew size compared to its predecessors. The Borei class combines stealth and strike power with strategic mobility, ensuring second-strike capability in the event of conflict.
