A Baltimore clipper — the fast, low, heavily raked schooner that made American privateers a genuine problem for the Royal Navy.
Hand-built in hardwood using traditional methods, rigged and finished before it ships. Fully assembled.

The type
Baltimore clippers were built for speed above all else — narrow, deep-drafted, and rigged with masts raked so far aft they look like a mistake. They carried little cargo and could not fight a warship, but nothing afloat could catch them. During the War of 1812 American privateers built on these lines took hundreds of British merchant prizes. The same qualities later made the type popular with slavers and smugglers, which is why so few survived to be preserved.
