History
Originally a small sloop out of Massachusetts, Lady Washington sailed with the Columbia Rediviva in 1787 to open the maritime fur trade on the Pacific Northwest coast — the first American ships to round Cape Horn to that coast. Rerigged as a brig at Macao, she became the first American vessel to trade with Japan in 1791. A full-size replica launched at Aberdeen, Washington in 1989 is the state's official ship, and appeared as the Interceptor in Pirates of the Caribbean.
