The most ornate ship in the Spanish line of battle, and one of the most demanding models we build.
Red and gold above the waterline, three gun decks, and carved work across the stern, quarter galleries and beakhead. Built plank on frame in western red cedar, rosewood and mahogany, and delivered fully assembled.

A note on the history
The San Felipe is one of the great subjects of ship modelling and one of the murkiest historically. The familiar three-decked, scarlet-and-gold vessel comes from an 18th-century decorative tradition rather than a surviving draught, and modern scholars dispute how closely it matches any single Spanish ship. We build the model as it has been built for two centuries — and we would rather say that plainly than invent a service record for it.
