The ship
Launched at Voronezh in 1700 to Peter the Great's own draught, Goto Predestinatsia was the first ship of the line designed and built in Russia without foreign supervision — a 58-gun vessel for the Azov fleet, drawn by a Tsar who had learned shipbuilding by working in Dutch and English yards under an assumed name.
